2005 is now closing . . .

So if 2004 was the Year of the False Start (as I'd determined in my year-end review last year) then 2005 was the year of At Least Some Things Got Done. I completed a course of paralegal study and I bashed out a 50,000 draft of a novel. And I managed to avoid losing my job, which is actually pretty good for me.

I bought a book by Debbie Ford called The Best Year of Your Life. Here's hoping it takes.

I'm all glammed up and ready to go out and see A Fir-Ju Well play at the EARL.

Today I took pleasure in lobster bisque as made by my mom.

Today I learned that the guitar book I got for Christmas isn't particularly useful for the first eighty pages or so, unless you're actually interested in the complete history of the guitar.

You play?
Funnily enough.. I just went today and bought another copy of My Very First Ever Guitar Book from back in the day when I started playing. It's called "Fretboard Logic" and it rocks. What kinda guitar do you have?

Re: You play?
I don't play yet. Working on it.

I have an acoustic guitar that I found by the side of the road. Seriously. It was covered in muck and dust and appears to have been living in an attic for ages. I took it home, cleaned it with some Murphy's Oil Soap, got new strings for it and got a musician friend to tune it up for me, who said it was a solid little guitar.

It's been neglected for an appallingly long time, but I'm hoping to get more use out of it this year.
