So, um, yeah

Leaving for L. A. on Thursday. Still only have the vaguest of notions what I'm going to be doing there, but I've been pinging various people and making we-should-get-together noises. So we'll see.

Went to Eyedrum on Saturday for a benefit show for WRAS, the Georgia State University radio station. There was a long list of bands of various genres all of whom were quite good. I picked up a couple of EPs by a band called Boulevard, who were note-perfect neo-80s synthpop and was bit bummed to discover that were actually a local band, but now they're packing their toys and going up to New York. Figures.

I'm readjusting to the concept of not having to bash out 2000 words each day. I'm just hoping I don't take the freed up time and end up burning it all on the internet.

I think unpacking in earnest will commence upon my return from California. I did manage to unpack a few more boxes of books, but few things are more distracting than books when I'm trying to organize things. "Ooh! Shiny!" *readreadread* "Oh, crap, where did the time go?"

Oh, and I went and tinted my hair again. Came out a little brighter than I anticipated, but it'll fade over time anyway.

Work is now in tidy-things-up-before-I-go-away mode. Funny how much I can get done when that happens.

Today I took pleasure in the feel of my newly-conditioned hair. (I swear the only time I condition it it when I dye it.)

Today I learned where the AAA office is on Roswell Road.

Benji from Boulevard was a friend of a friend when I was in Atlanta...I think I only got to see them once, but they were fun.

Yep, lots of the kids are heading to NY. I think Chandler's moved there with Snowden. Lil' Joseph is up there. I don't think you knew Lio or Christian or Ken, but I think they've been up there for a while. One of the gals in the clique is opening 2-3 clothing stores with her fashion designs in them and apparently doing well.

Oh: Feria conditioner. $7 a generously-sized tube at Sally's Beauty Supply. Same stuff in the dye boxes (and I have tried several brands and it is still the best conditioner, bar none, when colouring hair). (There used to be a Sally out Moreland way near the big new-at-the-time grocery store on the left side of the street...Publix?) I use it each time I shampoo and you know how I was big on messing with my hair colour. When I went in to get stripped back down to blonde, my hair was in such good condition that the hairdresser was able to take it from dark brown/auburn to strawberry blonde in one salon visit. This hardly ever happens, it usually takes about a month / four-five visits to go that light from very dark, saturated hair, and I'd been overdying it for almost 4 years at that point. Took just one more salon trip to get back to light ashy blonde again and I could have done it myself at that point but I needed a haircut badly by then. It's all due to Feria conditioner. I LOVE the stuff. Also, I use an ample amount and let it really soak in there, especially on the middle and the ends) each time. I slather it on the ends and pin it up in the shower and let it do its thang while I take care of all other shower-related duties and when rinsing it out, that's the only time I get some on the roots which keeps them from being greasy while the ends get conditioned fabulously. *BIG recommendation* Treat yourself. A Sally's-sized tube will last you 3-4 months easily.
