Case Dismissed

So I went back to court to plead my case about that mess back in March. I spent about two hours of waiting and watching the trials ahead of me. The judge (didn't get her name) had the fair but firm shut-the-hell-up-and-listen thing going (including taking a guy to task in fluent Spanish.) It was a bit like watching those afternoon judge shows, only the cases weren't quite so melodramatic. By the time my turn arrived, the lady I ran into hadn't shown up despite having been subpoenaed, so the case was dismissed and I was free to go.

I went home and took a nap, since I was still cranky from the insomnia of the night before. I have not been sleeping well at all, and I think I need to start taking measures to combat this.

Job interview tomorrow. A position similar to the one I had previously, only with a different field of law and a longer (but not too painful) commute. (I can even take MARTA there easily.) Wish me luck.

Today I took pleasure in the judge informing me I was free to go.

Today I learned something of what bench trials in DeKalb Recorder's Court are like.
