Just a quick entry to say . . .

The tornadoes that hit downtown Atlanta didn't come by my neck of the woods. The only thing I noticed was that it was raining a hell of a lot last night. A look out my front door and back window doesn't show downed tree limbs or fallen power lines.

Indeed, I had no clue that anything was out of the ordinary until arielography pinged me a message to ask if I was okay. When I did a little digging and found out what was up, I pulled out the phone to check up on Mr. TBH, since he lives downtown now.

There was already a message on my phone from him, that he'd sent at about 11:30 at night--"I'm okay." (I'm guessing he probably sent that message to everybody on his phone list.)

I phoned my parents and, as it turned out, they had been downtown to see a play and decided to hang out a little bit longer afterwards because the weather was looking nasty. Things had cleared up a bit by the time they emerged, but the damage that had been left behind was everywhere.

But at any rate, I'm okay. I'm sure I'll be hearing about the aftermath for days afterwards. The moral of the story--sometimes it really is a good idea to just stay home and play Second Life for a bit.

Today (so far) I took pleasure in finding out that those I care about are safe and well.

Today I learned um, wow, we had some tornadoes last night.
