An intermittent update

Hello, world! How have you been? I've been pretty good. I have a new job working at what I shall hereinafter refer to as the Big Green Grocery Store because they have a social media policy I'd rather not tangle with. It's a decent gig and a damn sight better than the Big Blue Grocery Store I used to work at out of college. I'm much more supported by management and I was trained much more thoroughly than "here's the register, here ya go." It's also quite novel to be in a workplace where I can talk about customers and co-workers without violating any confidentiality agreements.

Not that I'm going to do that in this entry. In other news, I finally finished reading the entirety of The Two Kinds of Magic to a once-a-month critique group called Writers Exchange. (The book itself has been submitted to a publisher and I'm awaiting a response.) Tonight is the next session and I'm planning to read them the beginning of the sequel, The Suicide Demon. (It's a novella, so it shouldn't take as long.)

Let's see, what else is going on? After a year of failure and a year of not even trying, I successfully completed NaNoWriMo this year. I started about a few days into it so I was lagging behind up until Thanksgiving and I had Black Friday off so I was able to finish it a few days before the deadline. The NaNovel is called Rich and Famous and it's about a girl on a reality show (reluctantly.)

That's about it for now. I might try updating a little more often on my lunch hours, but don't quote me on that.

Today I took pleasure in writing in my diary while listening to SomaFM.

Today I learned the asshole who bought the rights to a critical drug and jacked up the price has been arrested for securities fraud.
