Um, hi.

So, it's been a while, but I figured I should make an effort to write something for the benefit of the ten or so people who read this.

Work is great. It's just enough to keep me occupied, but not so much as to leave me overwhelmed. I'm getting into the swing of it and even finding little ways to streamline the usual processes, such as making generic, photocopiable cover letters for dismissals and writs, instead of taking the same letter and changing nothing but the address on it over and over again.

I've been exploring the area around the office on my lunch hour and made some fabulous discoveries. There's a gym that I may sign up for once my membership expires at the other one (or maybe I'll just have two gym memberships, decadent as that may be.) And there's a Goodwill. That takes credit cards. I am so doomed.

I got it in my head that I needed a toothbrush holder but I couldn't find one for less than six bucks at Target. So I went to Goodwill and found a spiffy little glass bud vase that holds my toothbrushes upright and only cost me fifty-five cents. So there.

I also went to IKEA for the first time last Saturday, which was a bit of sensory overload (Saturday is the worst day to go to IKEA--it's full of people gawking at everything and bored kids flopping on all the beds) but oddly fascinating in its Clean! Shiny! aesthetic. Though what I'll probably end up going is going there for ideas, and then scouring thrift shops and yard sales for the execution of those ideas. I'm particularly interested in their little sample rooms of infinitesimally small spaces, since I'm starting to look at places to move out to and just today I was looking at a condo with awfully 'cozy' dimensions. (Nice kitchens, though, and the location would be unbeatable for getting to work. We'll see.)

I wish I could go to froofie's get-together at Masquerade tonight, but it looks like I'm going to end up going to bed at a boringly early hour so I can be functional and clean at work tomorrow morning. Yeah, I'm getting dull. I'm working in an office, drinking lattes and looking at condos. Could I get any worse?

Today I took pleasure in sussing out a possible new place to live.

Today I learned what those condos up the street look like inside.

Are those the condos that Sean and Steve use to live in?

Down the street from the office; not the homestead. They were originally apartments (some units still are) that are being turned into condos. They're on Buford Highway, near North Druid Hills Road.

Oh, okay. I still have yet to read that book or see that film. (Don't hit me!)
